Juventus Name Former Italy Head Coach Spalletti

The Old Lady have chosen previous Italy head coach the veteran manager to lead the team for the rest of the term.

Spalletti steps in for Igor Tudor, who was let go after the Serie A side's defeat by Lazio recently.

Tudor had joined the club in March filling the shoes of Thiago Motta but left after seven months after an eight-game winless streak.

Spalletti guided Napoli to the Serie A crown in 2022-23 prior to assuming the Italy role, which missed out on the 2022 World Cup during Roberto Mancini's tenure.

Under his guidance, they made it to Euro 2024 exiting in the last 16 stage against Switzerland.

Yet, the Italian FA let Spalletti go in June post a qualifying defeat against Norway, with the Azzurri at risk of missing out on a third consecutive World Cup.

Spalletti's managerial career includes Inter Milan, Roma, and Udinese in Serie A and secured two Russian Premier League titles with Zenit St Petersburg.

Juventus were temporarily led by Massimo Brambilla during the 3-1 victory over Udinese on Wednesday which left them seventh in Serie A - trailing leaders Napoli by six points after nine matches.

Their Champions League campaign sees them in 25th place in the group stage, having lost once and drawn twice in their opening three matches.
